Caution: All Bitcoin account balances are public

Many transferring savings into Bitcoin this month are unaware that their account balance is no longer private.

Anybody with your Bitcoin address can simply look up your current balance and transaction history.

That's at least everybody you send money to or receive money from. It's worse if you publish your Bitcoin address online to ask for donations or to sell a thing. Anybody who sees it can look up your account balance and history.
